My work is based on two fundamentals: Your body is always doing it’s best to heal, cleanse, and rebuild and what you think is important, but what you feel is the truth. These principals come from my history, my family and my training.
As a child, I thought a lot about the body-mind connection. I learned about it when my sister, who had severe Tuberous Sclerosis, went onto a program with the Institute for The Development of Human Potential that I started to piece the puzzle together.
I’ve studied Pilates, theatre, dance, meditation and tapping and with over 20 years of teaching experience, I believe in a straight forward approach to movement as part of everyday life

I came to Pilates after suffering from a herniated disc over 10 years ago. I toyed with classical and the not so classical approach to Pilates for years – from right back to the basics of the fundamentals of Pilates to a more flow/yoga inspired type of class. When I moved to Toronto in the Summer of 2016, I hit the studios hard and started practising 5-6 times a week, sometimes twice a day because I loved the studio and the style of teaching so much. A friend asked me if I had thought about doing my training…fast forward to 2018 and completing my Stott Pilates teacher training in Brighton!
I like to think the spiritual side of movement isn’t just saved for yoga. Come to my class for an hour of movement, fun and a great playlist! I think the playlist is such an important part of the class. I love feedback and want to cater to you – it’s a two way street, so don’t be afraid to let me know what you want to see in classes too. All are invited to our safe space

Mike GIbson’s classes feature a mix of Hatha & Vinyasa Flow with an Ashtanga style & emphasis on breathing whilst taking alignment hints from Iyengar. Occasionally closing with Yin poses and using occasional Chi Kung moves in the warm ups, the aim is to give as full a feeling for the varied aspects and benefits of yoga to the mind and body as possible in a session. Featuring both gentle relaxed stretches and some more vigorous VInyasas whilst keeping a focus on breath, the classes are designed to help us to discover our most fulfilling practice.
Yogis are encouraged to rest when they need and emphasis is placed on ‘working with what you have got’. IE. a realistic approach to expectations and wisdom in choosing how far to develop asanas. The aim is to provide a safe practice for all levels of practitioner, young or old, stiff or supple. While some may achieve more aesthetically perfect poses than others, if instruction is followed, all will benefit equally from the practice.
